Core formation is carried out using different methods (shell moulding, cold box….) which all develop different polluting substances.
Flow is captured by suction hoods/walls for open machinery, whereas in the case of closed machinery, a vacuum is sufficient, via specially shaped unions. Sucked up substances are sent to a single stage venturi scrubber. This type of filtration system exploits the "venturi" part to reduce particles and the treatment column to neutralise acid/basic substances with the use of a suitable reagent, automatically dosed by a control unit. For efficient pollutant/regent reaction, it is important to consider contact time and suitable speed for application. Based on output flow evaporation, the washing solution is continuously reintegrated and once saturated, it is drained and sent to water purification systems.
These scrubbers are made from AISI 304/316 steel sheet or plastic material, according to pollutants/reagents present.
